We are looking for a talented DevOps professional to join our team.

​

Our development team is a group of experienced and talented engineers who are passionate about both our product and customers. As a member of the team, you will be involved in product design and implementation, develop solutions across our technology stack, and regularly deploy changes to production. For this role we prefer candidates in New Zealand time zones, but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered and should apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Azure, C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications. 

  • Implement responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using Angular or React frameworks. 

  • Conduct data analysis and apply analytical thinking to develop solutions that align with retail science principles. 

  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of software applications by following best practices and coding standards. 

  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment, primarily using Azure. 

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to software engineering principles and best practices. 

  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to identify and resolve any issues or bugs. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver software solutions that meet their requirements. 

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development and retail science. 

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers for continuous improvement. 

  • Support and maintain existing software applications, including troubleshooting and bug fixing. 

  • Contribute to the documentation of software design, architecture, and technical specifications.

Who You Are (Ideally!)

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with expertise in Azure, C#, and ASP.NET. 

  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. 

  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React. 

  • Analytical mindset and experience with data analysis in the context of software development. 

  • Knowledge of retail science principles and their application in software solutions is a plus. 

  • Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and familiarity with cloud services and deployment processes. 

  • Solid understanding of software development principles, practices, and design patterns. 

  • Proficiency in database technologies (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling. 

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software. 

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a cross-functional team environment. 

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
